• Resumen

  Se realiza aquí una revisión de la trayectoria y rasgos característicos de los estudios sobre las profesiones en las últimas décadas. Pensando en futuras investigaciones se propone prestar mayor atención a la convergencia entre "profesionales" e "intelectuales" y a la historicidad que el concepto de "campo" de Pierre Bourdieu presupone. Con respecto al caso específico de América Latina se señala la renovación producida de los últimos años gracias a la "nueva historia legal", los estudios socioculturales de la salud y la enfermedad y una nueva vertiente de trabajos comparativos. Por último se destacan aspectos relevantes de los artículos incluidos en el dossier.

• Abstract

  Here, the írends & patterns and the main features of the studies about professions during the last decades are reviewed. Bearing in mind future research work, the idea is fo place greater emphasis on the convergence between "professionals" and "intellectuals", and on the historicity (hisíorical authenticity) which Pierre Bourdieu's concept of "field" presupposes. With regard to the specific case of Latin America, the renovation that has taken place in recent years thanks to the "new legal history", socio-cultural studies about health & illness and the development of a new offshoot of comparative work, is pinpointed. Finally, relevant aspeets about the articles included in the dossier are highlighted.
